Leavenworth County State Lake is only 3 miles away and offers a quiet setting for picnics, 2 large shelter houses, overnight camping and boat launching facilities.

Area residents enjoy 4 parks within the city limits. City Park was the first park ever defined by Tonganoxie. It includes the Chief Tonganoxie swimming pool, a shelter, picnic tables and grills.

The 15-acre Reusch VFW Memorial Park features a community stage and memorial obelisk with the names of area residents who died in defense of our country.

Chieftain Park features a 1/2-mile trail on the outer boundary of the park, soccer fields, lighted tennis, basketball, sand volleyball and horseshoe courts. Centennial Park boasts beautiful flower gardens and picnic facilities.

Other attractions close to Tonganoxie include Legends shopping center and the Kansas Speedway.
